Families Helping Others

Please consider bringing your family and friends (children of all ages are welcome!) to our monthly parishwide service project to assemble bologna and cheese sandwiches for those who are hungry and homeless. Join us at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25 in Miller Hall and plan to be amazed at how many sandwiches can be made when we all work together. The sandwiches will be taken to the St. Lawrence Haven to distribute them to those in need. If you are able, please bring 2+ large loaves of white bread, 2+ packages of sliced bologna and 2+ packages of individually wrapped American cheese slices.  Thank you!

JOIN US FOR THANKSGIVING MASS

Bring your family and join us for n Thanksgiving Mass at 8:30 a.m.
on Thursday, November 27. Our Eucharist will include offering our gifts to the poor. This affords us the opportunity to show our love for God in the guise of our neighbor. Please bring non-perishable (canned or boxed) food items to Mass. We will invite you to carry your donations in the offertory procession and place them around the altar. The food will be blessed during the celebration and given to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) for distribution to the needy. We will also bless the food that you bring for your Thanksgiving table. What better way to observe this wonderful day than to come to Mass and then to continue to live the Eucharist by serving the hungry?

Enjoy a family breakfast in Miller Hall with Santa on Saturday, December 6. Reservations fill quickly and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Click here for a registration form!

The Jesse Tree

Eighteen years ago St. Paul the Apostle parish began a partnership with Holy Rosary/St. John parish, sharing our blessings with them and theirs with us.

The Jesse Tree project serves two purposes.
For the people of our parish, it is an important part of our Advent Season when we prepare for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ - His first joyful “coming” as a baby at Christmas and His second coming at the end of time. The second purpose of the Jesse Tree is to facilitate our gift giving to the community of Holy Rosary/St. John.

Some gift tags will ask for $35 checks for the Community Kitchen to buy food from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank at reduced prices. Other tags will ask for $25 checks. This money will be used to buy food items not available from the Food Bank and cover other operating costs.

We will also have tags for $50 checks that will cover operational costs for the Holy Rosary/St. John parish. Other tags will ask for gift cards that are used in several ways:
1) to provide non-food items for the Kitchen such as plastic wrap, foil, etc.
2) to provide needed supplies for the parish’s children and senior ministries, &
3) to provide for special needs of the parish community. We will also ask for toiletries and warm gloves, hats, and socks.

Too often, the basic needs of toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and warm clothing go unfilled for those in the neighborhood of Holy Rosary/St. John since buying food must be their first priority.

Finally, through St. Paul school, toys are collected to be distributed to the children of the community at the Community Kitchen Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 23. Please pull a gift tag from the Jesse Tree and return your gifts as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday, December 16. Thank you in advance for your wonderful generosity!
