Youth Ministry: High School
St. Paul Youth Ministry provides numerous opportunities for High School students to live out their faith. During the school year we provide opportunities for teens to get together about 3-4 times a month. At least once a month we will serve others through a service project, learn how to better live our faith through listening to guest speakers and having group discussions, and have some fellowship and fun together as a group. There also are special events such as the Diocesan Youth Rally, Retreats, E3 Groups, and NCYC. In the summertime, we do several social activities along with our Gospel Road trip to Cranks Creek, Kentucky in July. St. Paul Youth Ministry High School events are open to all High School students of the parish regardless of what school they and students are always encouraged to bring friends.
E3 GROUPS
E3 Groups are small faith sharing communities consisting of no more than 10 students and an adult facilitator that meet for 6 weeks on a weekday evening centered around a particular topic or during a certain time of the year (i.e. Advent, Lent, summer, etc.). They are opportunities to learn Scripture, have real and deep discussions, and meet other high school teens who love being Catholic. Join one!
Hot Seat Nights
These nights literally put a special guest in THE HOT SEAT! Join us on these fun nights as we tackle an interesting church topic, ask difficult questions, and get real answers! We talk about topics such as dating/relationships, sexuality, pro-life issues, the church, decision-making, and more!
Core Leadership Team
Core Team is a committed group of adults and student leaders who meet monthly with the Youth Minister to help create and lead many of the SPYM programs. They plan many service and social events and do creative outreach to our parish community of youth.
R.C.I.A for Youth
SPYM offers a preparation program for students who need the Sacrament(s) of Baptism, 1st Eucharist, and/or Confirmation, or who are seeking conversion into the Catholic faith from a different faith denomination.
Winter High School Retreat
Join us for our every-other-year retreat weekend in January after exams are over! Get away for 3 fun days of rest, relaxation, and meeting new people at a beautiful retreat center somewhere in Ohio.
Gospel Road Summer Mission Trip Information & Liability Form
Every summer SPYM heads down to rural Cranks Creek, Kentucky for 5 days to help rebuild homes and lives of the Appalachian people there. This experience is an opportunity for the youth of our parish to use their gifts to serve an area of our country that is in extreme need and to develop a deeper walk with God.
Diocesan Youth Events
SPYM also participates in events with youth from around the diocese. We attend annually the High School Youth Rally (1st weekend in March), the Youth Rally Hype Night (in February), the Walking Stations of the Cross (Good Friday), and other joint parish youth events. We also have 2 St. Paul YM representatives on the Diocesan Youth Council (DYC).
Monthly Service & Social Events
SPYM offers many different kinds of service and social opportunities once a month (October thru April). Whether you need service hours for school, love helping others, or just want to meet new and different people, join us at any or all of our events! We have a lot of fun!
