Youth Ministry: High School

St. Paul Youth Ministry provides numerous opportunities for High School students to live out their faith. During the school year we provide opportunities for teens to get together about 3-4 times a month. At least once a month we will serve others through a service project, learn how to better live our faith through listening to guest speakers and having group discussions, and have some fellowship and fun together as a group. There also are special events such as the Diocesan Youth Rally, Retreats, E3 Groups, and NCYC. In the summertime, we do several social activities along with our Gospel Road trip to Cranks Creek, Kentucky in July. St. Paul Youth Ministry High School events are open to all High School students of the parish regardless of what school they attend and students are always encouraged to bring friends.

Small Faith Communities For HS Youth

Small faith sharing communities consist of no more than 10 students and an adult facilitator that meet for 6 weeks on a weekday evening centered around a particular topic or during a certain time of the year (i.e. Advent, Lent). They are opportunities to learn Scripture, have real and deep discussions, and meet other high school teens who love being Catholic. Join one!

Youth Ministry Event Nights

St. Paul YM provides evening events for H.S. Youth to gather for social and spiritual activities along with discussions on topics that interest teens.

Core Leadership Team – H.S. team - aka “S.W.A.T”
                                                                   (Students Who Advocate Truth)
                                    – M.S. team - aka “S.P.Y.” (Saint Paul Youth)

Core Team is a committed group of adults and student leaders who meet monthly with the Youth Minister to help create and lead many of the Youth Ministry programs. They plan many service and social events and do creative outreach to our parish community of youth.

R.C.I.A for Youth

St. Paul YM offers a preparation program for High School students who are in need of any of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist (1st Communion), or Confirmation, or who are seeking conversion into the Catholic faith from a different faith denomination. Look for “Discover Your Faith” sessions on the calendar.

High School Retreat

This annual retreat is offered for all High School Youth. This is a great weekend away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is a weekend for spiritual and personal growth, a time to breathe the fresh air and enjoy time with friends new and old! Join us for a weekend of fun, rest, and relaxation.

Gospel Road Summer Mission Trip

Every summer our Youth Ministry provides an opportunity for the youth of our parish to use their gifts to serve an area of our country that is in extreme need and to develop a closer walk with God. These trips provide an immersion experience for teens to explore the world around them and open their eyes to the many injustices that happen to others in need. Most who have experienced Gospel Road say that it helped them to grow spiritually and has changed their lives for the better.

Diocesan Youth Events

St. Paul Youth Ministry also participates in events with youth from around the diocese. We attend annually the High School Youth Rally (March 9-11, 2012), the Youth Rally Hype Night (in February), the Walking Stations of the Cross (Good Friday), and other joint parish youth events. We also have a representative from St. Paul YM on the Diocesan Youth Council (DYC). Our representative this year is Kyra Hess. If you are interested in representing St. Paul parish to the Diocesan Youth Counsel please contact Linda Hall, Youth Minister to be approved to apply and to receive an application.

Monthly Service & Social Events

St. Paul YM offers many different kinds of service and social opportunities. Whether you need service hours for school, love helping others, or just want to meet new and different people, join us at any or all of our events! We have lots of fun!
