St. Paul Catholic School: Curriculum
Basic skills in reading, math, and language arts are thoroughly taught at every grade level. Science, health, social studies, and technology skills are introduced into the curriculum very early in the school experience, with greater emphasis each successive year. Music, art, and physical education are integrated across the curriculum.
St. Paul teachers utilize both formative and summative assessment data to determine if students are meeting the required standards. This type of analysis also serves as a catalyst for better teaching practices.
The special needs of our students are addressed through intervention specialists and tutors. Advanced courses in math are offered at the junior high level including virtual learning opportunities. Foreign language was added to the curriculum in the 2009-10 school year. An after-school program is available for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. St. Paul students consistently score higher than the national percentile on the Terra Nova standardized achievement test.
