Catholic Institute for Biblical Literacy

This two-and-one-half-year course of study consists of eight courses with each course meeting for eight two-hour classes.  Instructors have at least a Master's degree in Theology.  Grounded in the teaching of the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation, Dei Verbum, this program involves adults in a prayerful relationship with the revealed Word of God and fosters the development of skills necessary for leadership in ministry.

Similar to programs in other areas of the country, it is hoped such comprehensive study will lead to personal holiness, as well as ministry, for religious-education teachers, lectors, RCIA and Bible-study leaders in this area, to name just some of the ministries that will benefit.

The Catholic Institute for Biblical Literacy (CIBL) began at St. Paul parish in the fall of 2005.  Over 90 students from St. Paul and other parishes have had some level of participation in CIBL, with the first graduating class to finish in the spring of 2008.  This is an exciting opportunity to feed the hunger that has been expressed for the systematic study of Sacred Scripture at an advanced level.

For anyone interested in beginning this program you may contact Susan Bellotti, Pastoral Associate to answer your specific questions regarding CIBL at (614) 882-2109 or sbellotti@rrohio.com .   In addition, keep checking this website for updated information.  To see the current program flyer please click here
